PCUMC Children's Ministry Program
The Children's Ministry blog is a great place to learn about upcoming activities, keep connected, get involved, and volunteer. Our focus is to demonstrate for our children how deep and wide God's love is for them and those in their community, how being in relationship with God is the solid foundation they will need as they grow, and as a result, our children will know that God loves them so much that Christ was sent to be their Savior.

FALL Kick-Off/SERVE 2013/Worship Wednesdays Heroes Unmasked
You will NOT want to miss our FALL Kick-Off on September 8th! This will be a time for us to pray over all our lead teachers and assistants, as well as give our 3rd graders their Bibles; older students who have not yet received their Bibles can also receive one as well. We will also begin our regular 9:30 AM Sunday School classes and our 11:00 AM Children's Church. Our 9:30 AM classes use Group's FaithWeaverNOW curriculum and our 11:00 AM Children's Church will be using Group's KidsOwn Worship.
On Saturday, September 14th we will be meeting at the church at 9:00 AM to begin baking cookies and making cards that we will then deliver to our local emergency personnel. Please plan to join us that morning. It is sure to be a great time! Then, on Sunday, September 15th we will celebrate our SERVE 2013 weekend with a SERVE Celebration. We will have snacks, games, activities, and crafts. Both events are great opportunities to invite your friends to join us for fun!
Beginning Wednesday, September 18th we will start our Worship Wednesdays with Heroes Unmasked. Have you ever wanted to meet a Super Hero? Well here is your chance to learn about real Heroes from the Bible. We will meet each Wednesday evening from 6:30 - 7:30 PM for a lesson, craft, game, and snack about each of the following Hero: Noah, Moses, Elijah, Daniel, David, Esther, and Jesus!

Body of Christ
This morning our children will be learning about what it means to be part of the Body of Christ.
"so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other. In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well..." Romans 12: 5-6

The Lost Sheep - LUKE 15:3-7 and BACKPACKS of LOVE
Today during Sunday School and Children's Church, we learned about the parable of The Lost Sheep; as a Child of God, God loves each of us so much he will search for just one of us when we have gone astray.
Back to School - We then talked about the heaviness of backpacks and the contents we carry in our backpacks. Our sins can be heavy if we don't repent and receive forgiveness from God; God can make us clean just like a clean sheet of notebook paper; and when we talk to God and read the Bible we are sharpened like pencils for God to use us.
Finally, we talked about bringing items in for our SERVE 2013 - BACKPACKS of LOVE for Festival of Sharing. Children are encouraged to bring in items for other children in need - the items include toothpaste, t-shirts, underwear, small stuffed animals, etc.
