Church Celebration - February 17

In honor of our congregation paying in-full a debt, we will be hosting only one service on Sunday, February 17th at 10:00 a.m.  This is such a great day to celebrate as a whole church family, therefore we will not be hosting Sunday School or Children's Church.  Please plan to attend as a whole family on February 17th at 10:00 a.m. for the festivities!

Family Valentine Lunch - Fun and Love for Lunch

Don't miss our upcoming Family Valentine Lunch on February 10th right after the 11:00 a.m. service.  The main dish will be a delicious roast prepared by Anna Cooper.  Please bring your favorite side dish to share.  As families, we will have the chance to decorate cookies, decorate and create a family prayer journal, and other activities, including fellowship with other families.  What a great time to celebrate and share fun, joy, and love with each other.

Back Snack Mission - PRAISE

Praises to God for the outpouring of love and desire to serve in our current mission.  We received approximately $267 yesterday for our current mission.  This meets our goal, but as I was reading my devotions this morning I was reminded that God can make so much more out of our "5 loaves".  We will continue to collect donations for the Northland Children's Hunger Initiative over the next 5 weeks.  Praying that God will multiply our giving over the next weeks.

Children's Outreach Mission - Northland Childhood Hunger Initiative

All children and families are encouraged to participate in our current outreach mission opportunity.  We will be partnering with the Northland Childhood Hunger Initiative, which helps to provide funds for the Harvesters "BackSnack" program.  The Northland Childhood Hunger Initiative has a goal of helping provide food and snacks for children in Platte and Clay county public schools who are in need for 33 weekends out of the year.  Our goal is for our children and families to raise at least $250 over the next 6 weeks so that we can provide at least 1 "BackSnack" backpack for 1 student for 1 school year.  Let's serve together to help others in our community!

"He did it so that they might prepare God’s people to serve. If they do, the body of Christ will be built up...He makes the whole body grow and build itself up in love. Under the control of Christ, each part of the body does its work. It supports the other parts. In that way, the body is joined and held together." Ephesians 4:12,16

Welcome to Platte City UMC's Children's Ministry

We are excited to begin a new year at Platte City UMC.  The Children's Ministry blog is a great place to learn about upcoming activities, keep connected with what we are doing in our small groups, get involved with our prayer ministry and outreach opportunities, and to volunteer.

Our focus is to demonstrate for our children how deep and wide God's love is for them and those in their community, how being in relationship with God is the solid foundation they will need as they grow, and as a result, our children will know that God loves them so much that Christ was sent to be their Savior.

" For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him." John 3:16-17
