The Children's Ministry blog is a great place to learn about upcoming activities, keep connected, get involved, and volunteer. Our focus is to demonstrate for our children how deep and wide God's love is for them and those in their community, how being in relationship with God is the solid foundation they will need as they grow, and as a result, our children will know that God loves them so much that Christ was sent to be their Savior.

Service Devotion
As I was doing my devotions this morning, I came across this devotion from DaySpring. I thought this was very appropriate and fitting as we are beginning our new outreach. Enjoy!
None of us can help everyone.
But all of us can help someone.
And when we help them, we serve Jesus.
-Max Lucado
But all of us can help someone.
And when we help them, we serve Jesus.

the sacrifices you make...
may not always be noticed by others-
but God sees every one of them and smiles.
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. Colossians 3:23,24
Seedlings and Cans of Fruit...
Worshiping Wednesdays are in session. We are studying the all the Fruit of the Spirit over the next few weeks. As we are studying the Fruit, we would like to begin our next outreach. Children are encouraged to begin bringing in offering that will go to purchasing seedlings for Heifer International, but also to begin bringing in cans of fruit for our local food pantry. Even if you aren't able to come for Worshiping Wednesday, please pray how you can help in our Seedlings and Cans of Fruit outreach.
Happy Snow Days...
We had several inches last week and more is to come! During these times it can become a good reminder of how we can serve one another. Maybe it is shoveling a neighbor's driveway, sharing a warm lunch, calling a friend to check in with them, or whatever maybe on your heart. Praying, however you can serve over this week, that you are safe.

Thank you - Family Valentine's Day Lunch was full of Fun and Love!
Thank you to each and every person and family that attended our Family Valentine Lunch today! We had close to 100 people in attendance today, which provided for a lot of fun fellowship time. The cookies and decorating items that Ms. Joyce provided were a big hit and super yummy. The heart crafts and prayer journals that Ms. Jennifer and Ms. Kim help provide were wonderful for all. A special thank you to Ms. Stephanie, Ms. Kim M, and Ms. Anna who provided homemade treats for everyone. We are looking forward to our next event - The EASTER EGG HUNT - on March 23. If you had a blast today, then please plan to help make our Easter Egg Hunt even bigger and with a lot more fellowship! How can you do that? Invite your friends to come have fun with our activities, crafts, yummy treats, and of course finding lots of eggs.
Reminder of Worshiping Wednesdays starts February 13th...
Don't miss out on our Fruit of the Spirit Study that begins this Wednesday! We will start at 6:30 pm, which is after the Lenten Service. This week we will be studying about the fruit of LOVE! Paul tells us in the Bible that LOVE is the greatest of the Fruit of the Spirit. We will post the Bible verses that we will be studying on our blog over the next 9 weeks. We will also be posting activities in case you can't be with us. Looking forward to all the fun we are going to have together - we'll be hanging together as a bunch of fruit!!!
Fishes and Loaves...
Do you remember the story of the fishes and the loaves:
"But Jesus said, 'You feed them.' 'But
we have only five loaves of bread and two fish,' they answered. 'Or are
you expecting us to go and buy enough food for this whole crowd?' For there were about 5,000 men there. Jesus replied, 'Tell them to sit down in groups of about fifty each.' So the people all sat down. Jesus
took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and blessed
them. Then, breaking the loaves into pieces, he kept giving the bread
and fish to the disciples so they could distribute it to the people. They all ate as much as they wanted, and afterward, the disciples picked up twelve baskets of leftovers!" Luke 9:13-17
This morning we had the opportunity to see God's spirit moving in our members as we served together to provide funds for the Northland Childhood Hunger Initiative. We began our outreach with a goal of $250. We prayed over this goal and mission. As we prayed, God took our offering and tripled our offering. We presented Chris Evans, Executive Director of Feed Northland Children with a check for $500. After the service, we were approached by two different people who want to begin a mission outreach with other groups and Chris was presented with an additional check from members for an additional $250. GOD IS GOOD!!!
Thank you for listening to God's call on your heart to provide funds for this outreach. The three children who receive these bags throughout the school year will be blessed. Please pray that these children see Christ and God in these gifts of food and that their hearts are touched. Please pray that they choose to have a relationship with God and they will serve others as they grow.
LIVE Parent Page Lesson 11
Our children who attend our 11:00 a.m. Children's Church are working
through a variety of activities from Dave Ramsey Financial Peace to our
newest curriculum, LIVE Curriculum. Each week our teachers lead the
students through the study and activities. The following sheets are for
parents as a way to extend the lessons throughout the week with
activities and discussion points to be done at home. We encourage you
to download each week's lesson and use this in your family.

Praises to God...
We will be able to make our updated goal of $500. YEAH ~ Praise
God!!! On Sunday, February 10 we will be able to share our giving and service with
Northland Childhood Hunger Initiative. It is a
blessing for us to be able to provide for two children in need.
Please pray over the two children, whom we don't know, and those 33 backsnacks that they will receive. Pray that they will see Christ in this giving and their hearts will know that there is a God who loves and wants to be in relationship with them. "Jesus said, 'Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.'" Matthew 19:14
Hope your week is blessed so that you are blessing to those in your circle of influence!
Thank you to everyone who was able to donate and serve in this outreach!

Worshiping Wednesdays begins February 13th - April 17th
Are you looking for some fun? Have you ever thought about hanging out with a bunch of fruit??? What about climbing in some trees? Well, if you would like to do all of that and more, then you will want to be part of our upcoming Worshiping Wednesdays. We will meet just after the Lenten Services at 6:30. We will be learning about The Fruit of the Spirit as well as how trees are important and how we can help others in the world by giving them a tree. You do not want to miss our time together! All children, Pre-K through 5th Grade are encouraged to be part of our bunch of fruits! Our time together will last 9 weeks (February 13th - April 17th); we will be taking a break for Spring Break.
Children's Choir - Easter Program
Our children's choir will begin practices in a couple weeks for our Easter celebration. Please plan to be part of this wonderful ministry. We are thankful to have Elizabeth Hanman as our Director for this celebration. Keep checking back and looking for flyers over the next week or so.
Not too late...
It is not too late to donate to our outreach for Northland Childhood Hunger Initiative. We are so close to doubling our goal. I have been in prayer over the last week that we will be able to accomplish more than we could ever believe. I am excited to share that Chris Evans, Executive Director of Feed Northland Kids will be with us on Sunday, February 10th for a presentation of our donation. Thank you for your continued prayers and giving to the outreach!
